Visual Sidekick Licence Types

Single User Licence

This licence allows a single individual person ("the User") to use Visual Sidekick beyond the 30-day evaluation period.

If the User uses more than one PC, he or she only requires a single licence. If two or more Users share a PC, each User will require his or her own licence.

Site Licence

This licence allows a single company or organisation to legalise all copies of Visual Sidekick that are being used on all PCs located at a single street address ("the Site"). If a company or organisation operates multiple Sites at different physical addresses, each Site will require its own licence.

Visual Sidekick may be installed and used on any company-owned laptop of any employee who is based at the Site. Visual Sidekick may be installed and used on any privately-owned PC or laptop of any employee of the company or organisation who is based at the Site.

The Registration Process

To register, follow these instructions:

Step 1: Purchase a registration key

Syntaxia Technologies uses the well-known Share-it! internet software reseller service for all payment processing functions. Share-it! offers a number of payment mechanisms, including online registration using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Diners Club, Solo and Switch/Maestro), bank transfers, checks, cash or purchase orders.

To register, simply follow one of the links at the top of this page to register a new copy of Visual Sidekick or to upgrade an older version.

During the registration process you will be asked to supply the following information:

  • Contact details.
  • Billing details.
  • The number of licences required - this will determine what discount you receive.

On successful registration, Share-it! will send you an email with your registration key.

On receipt of this confirmation email, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Install and setup

If Visual Sidekick's 30-day evaluation period has expired, you will be prompted to enter your registration key immediately on launching the development environment.

If Visual Sidekick's 30-day evaluation period has not yet expired, select the "VSK / Help / Register Visual Sidekick" menu option, and enter your registration key.

If you are a new Visual Sidekick user, you will be required to enter the registration key that was supplied to you via email.

If you are upgrading from a previous registered version Visual Sidekick, you will be required to enter two pieces of information: the new Visual Sidekick 3 registration key that was supplied to you via email, plus your previous Visual Sidekick .NET or Visual Sidekick for Visual C++ 6 registration key.
